Barite with Marcasite, Chalcopyrite and Siderite
Description

Floater parallel growth of thin tabular crystals of Barite that are sharp with very well defined faces and edges. They are translucent and very bright and have flattened crystals of Marcasite that show, very well marked, the twin known as “cockscomb”, with bright disphenoidal crystals of Chalcopyrite and minor crystals of Siderite. The specimen has been reviewed, photographed and published as a new discovery in the magazine ‘Mineral Up’ on page 48 in number 2012/2 Bou Nahas, Oumjrane area, Alnif, Errachidia Morocco (12/2011-01/2012) Specimen size: 4.6 × 4.5 × 1.5 cm = 1.8” × 1.8” × 0.6” Main crystal size: 4.4 × 1.8 cm = 1.7” × 0.7”
